Nice choice Forrest! Ralphie is so cool. Better than Yoda! This line of thinking helps us greatly. It underscores the old addage “prepare for the worst, hope for the best”. It results in many ultra Bimblers’ post-race comments like, “That was really tough, but I’d do it again!”, and, “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be!” Of course these feelings and statements just lead us down a slippery slope to where first 5Ks and 10Ks are not enough. Then marathons and 50Ks don’t quite cut it. 50milers and 100Ks do not sate us. The fun is never ending…as it should be. 😉
