The event that rivals the Oscars, has nothing to do with running but generously rewards acts of BS was held in Guilford last night. Walking away with the coveted Doctor Von award was Shaggy for a touching poem about Scoobie that appeared on the Scobbie and Shaggy Blog earlier in the year. Star turn was performed by El Torro, suitably decked out in a tutu and magic wand, with swiveling hips that were the envy of several ladies in the audience.
The evening is the creation of the Pews Committee aka, Iggy, Oddjob and Allstate – thank you ladies, nice job! See below for highlights from the night.

Many thanks to the Pews Committee for an outstanding evening of entertainment, and congratulations to all of the eminently deserving award recipients. To think that some were worried late last autumn that there wouldn’t be enough BS in 2008! It was also really nice to see so many first time attendees at this prestigious event, too bad we were only able to properly “indoctrinate” one, El Tutu, oops, I mean, El Toro.
To all those Bimblers who were present last year, but could not attend this year: we missed you. Hopefully the video captures the essence of the event.
I wonder if we will get banished from this venue, like the last one…

El tutu – good one Forrest! Thank you Forrest for the tunes and all your support work on the trails and on line! You did a great job delivering the “scoobie rock” – a little bit at a time through the woods this summer! Great job!

To the Pew committee and the organizing powers that helped with the wonderful event last night- a humble thank you!! The “gala” included an awesome audience, spectacular entertainment, glamorous MC’s, and special effects that could be bested by none. Despite my recent absence from actual running events and training, I had a warmed heart seeing and chatting with fellow Bimblers.
BTW- I take it that if one receives an award for slightly inappropriate banter, the practice should continue, yes? Of course, the honor system must be utilized so that any infraction would result in the washing out of the mouth (and mind) if said infraction were deemed so overly inappropriate by a panel of peer bimblers. I’ll loan out the soap and basin when necessary!
Cheers

Howdy!!!!! Our golden shoes (both lefties) are proudly displayed in a prominent location! What a great night full of wonderful, creative, crazy people! A good time was had by all!
BooMan
I will cherish my award! A piece of actual road! I do have to admit I haven’t done that ugly stretch near Super Stop and Shop at exit 56.
Moral of the story? If BooMan doesn’t make it to the road, the road shall come to BooMan.
Thanks again!
