This run location has it all. Rocks ,roots, technical spots, streams, swimming and cool mica and quartz outcrops. This area is an ancient Indian campground and hunting area. So if your lucky you might find some arrowheads around the pond.
I was here on Monday to park the car and head down the road ( Foothills Rd.)a little way to the trailhead for the Mattebessett Trail. This trail goes through the Millers Pond State Park. I went North on the trail for three miles or so then turned around. It was a good hike with plenty of scenery. This area is quiet with no road noice and is highly recommended. Dog friendly to.
