I had been planning on running the Sea Legs Shuffle for quite awhile. As luck would have it, an opportunity to visit my son would take me away from the area for the weekend. Needless to say I was disappointed on the running side of life not to be able the race. I know you know about that sort of thing….
I must share my story of my run Sunday morning in Fairhaven, Ma. Fairhaven is a seaside town across the harbor from New Bedford and a short drive from Cape Cod. I had gone out for a run on a bike path I noticed a short distance from where I was staying. After about thirty minutes of solo running a runner joined the path up ahead. A few minutes later we were running together. His name was Bob McGregor and he is the physical fitness instructor for the county sheriff’s dept. He asked me if I wanted to loop back onto the hurricane trail with some nice views of Buzzards Bay. Well this trail was a 10′ high pile of rock to protect the town. It wound thru the woods and would pop out now and then for some spectacular views and back into the woods. It was miles of a flat rock surface and it was awesome. What a run. I only wish I could have shared it with the gang.
Sometimes treasures just come out of nowhere. So much for missing the race.

I too was away from the area. I was vacationing in New Brunswick, Canada. I ran on logging roads, dirt trails and loosely gravelled roads. Nice.
This brings my total of countries that I have run in to 4: USA, India, Canada, and Minnesotta.
