One man’s account on life as an ultra runner’s crew; tales of sleep deprivation, tough unforgiving women and noodles!
It is sometimes said, “like father, like son” but this story comes with a frank denial of that this is true. What more can be said except you need to read the diary of Mr. Potato Head

Attention all Bimblers… This is a MUST READ report!
Much thanks to MR & MRS POTATO HEAD – I thoroughly enjoyed this report as will anybody who reads it!
Congrats to Spud, Chipper & his delicious crew for sharing their experience with us.

Spuds!
It was great to be able to enjoy the company of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head out on the trail. I was, of course, already well aware of what nice folks they are, but they are truly unique as crew. Looking at the race, in the few moments I could, through the eyes of non-runner crew was fascinating. I think the blog post captures their pragmatism, incredulity, patience, and fortitude perfectly. I particularly enjoyed Mr. Potato Head’s utter certainty of the insanity of it all 🙂

Spuds, Chipper, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head,
Congratulations to all of you on an extraordinary accomplishment, fantastic support, and a wonderfully enjoyable report! What a great read! Thanks so much for sharing your (hilarious) experience and perspective on our… ‘recreation’! 🙂

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head(s),
Finally, a truly sane perspective of an insanely outlandish activity!!! Thank you both for your insight and time for the written thoughts. Oh, and yes, thank you for producing the outstanding child, PhD…Potato Head Dan (a nod to Mr. Bimble for that one). He is continuously showing us that he is forever the amazing athlete! Cheers to you for being so patient, supportive, and caring in crewing him through this tremedous achievement! I bet you thought this much work “parenting” was in the past!! Ha!
Congrats to Chipper for traveling the world, doing the laundry, supporting Donnie and Amy at THEIR race, AND being the best all around woman ever who did not run 100 miles, but clearly did everything else and more to help get her man across the finish line!!!
Spuds, Awesome, inspiring, resilient!! Congrats!!!!!!!!

So very glad I finally had the chance to read this report. Quite a unique and insightful perspective. So much to like but my favorite part is when Spuds says he is dropping and Chipper says no he is not. That’s love! Thank you very much for taking the time to write the report.
