Beetroot juice ‘boosts stamina’
Drinking beetroot juice boosts stamina and could help people exercise for up to 16% longer, a UK study suggests. A University of Exeter team found nitrate contained in the vegetable leads to a reduction in oxygen uptake – making exercise less tiring. The small Journal of Applied Physiology study suggests the effect is greater than that which can be achieved by regular training.

Organic has no health benefits
Organic food is no healthier than ordinary food, a large independent review has concluded. There is little difference in nutritional value and no evidence of any extra health benefits from eating organic produce, UK researchers found. Bite of the Bluff #1
The first Bluff Bite went off without mishap or loss of runners. El Toro did cause a little concern when it was discovered that he hadn’t returned after the course markers had been taken down! Thankfully he did eventually emerge from the woods, a little dehydrated and sporting a bread growth that seemed longer than when he started!
