Seems like Mount Greylock has a certain allure to Bimblers that keeps us going back for repeat visits. While this tale can not compare in challenge with the winter visits by others in our merry band, the Mount Greylock half marathon is still a worthy challenge for any trail runner. The Twilight Zone
A few weeks ago Shelly Girl and I decided to meet after school and head over to Bluff Point in Groton to run the Twilight Trail run. We have done the 7.4 mile race before but it had been several years and we wanted to see if our older bodies could handle this fast course. Due to distance or terrain or both most of the races we do have significant hiking sections. Bluff Point is not that race. If you are looking for a tempo workout on a course roughly Bash distance this is a good race to run. [Read more…] about The Twilight Zone
yoU Ran Outstanding
I have hesitated to write this report until I have seen official results. After waiting for the results I found out I was listed as URO. I did not know what this stood for. I frantically posted something on the B.S. for some explanation of what is going on. That is where the notion of the TCU Fat Ass came into being, an attempt to cover the trail from the state line to Elizabeth Adams School in Guilford. [Read more…] about A state of good running
Beating the lottery
Its been well over a year since my last race report. Much has been going on in “Suds World” during this time and that has changed my running habits. I have had a lot of downs and a few ups during this time and everyday seems to get a little bit better. As long as I’m running that is. I will be building up to do long runs again and I can’t wait but have to. In the meantime I thought of doing this little mountain running circuit. Which is right up my alley. Ten Bimblers, but no tub. And who do you think they they be?
