Yes Virginia, there are otters in Branford.  I saw them today with my very own eyes.

I was in a “I don’t want to run 3 hours today funk”, but I put on my running clothes and told my two older children that I would bring them to school.  This got me out of the house and going in the right direction at an early hour.  Sadie and I dropped the kids off before 7:30 and headed over to the Van Wie Property of the Branford Land Trust that is over off Red Hill Rd. near Exit 56.  We planned to run through several Land Trust properties past the quarry and into Westwoods, where we would do the Bimbler’s Bash and then return back.  [Read more…] about Otters in Branford!!

Salvatore (Sam) Dziekan will occasionally be running with us while training for his first marathon! A new post category Run Locations has been added so details of where people like to run can be posted. Of course if your favorite location is quiet and secluded, the last thing you might want to have to share it with hoards of other runners! But for those that want to share details of these locations – feel free. Either post direct, or if you want to send in the data file from a GPS device, it should be possible to present the route as in a Google map.

The photo gallery has had an update. The new version should be quicker to respond and from a management point of view it is also easier to edit. [Read more…] about New Photo Gallery

To kick off the new year a couple of small changes occurred on the web site today. You may not have noticed and if that is the case – good, they weren’t intended to have been dramatic! One feature that has been added though is the ability to created nested comments to posts. Previously, comments could only be made as if they applied to the article they were attached to.
