Bite 1, also known as the Prologue is an out and back section starting at Guilford Lakes School, 40 Maupas Rd, Guilford, CT 06437. The route passes through the Timberlands Preserve before crossing Route 80 and continuing within Cockaponsset State Forest to Race Hill Rd and back. It’s dog friendly, but due to the many rocks and roots along the way. has been known to bite ankles!
