We are trying to make a come back to Sunset Hill training. This is a great venue for hill work on the road. For an hour or so we will be going up and over the hill as many times as possible. After all, Wednesday is hump day.

Hill repeats on the pavement. My goal is 10. About an hour and half worth of pounding Sunset Hill. The start is 50 ft elevation and the top is 134′. So that is 85′ gain each side of the hill x 10. Remember the guarantee of the singing quads. Come join the chorus. Suds

The Scoop: Bluff Head/Great Hill Road Hybrid Run

Last weekend I set out to find the hills of North Guilford. I have been planning my training runs for the “One Hill” in June. Since I live in Westbrook it makes sense to train within a certain radius without spending too much time driving there. My experience at the Pack Monadnock Road Race 10 Miler, Wilton , NH on June 5,2011. (USATF-NE Mountain Circuit Race #3).
This race takes place in south central New Hampshire. Its an end to end race starting at the Wilton High School and finishing 10 miles west at the summit of Pack Mt. The top of Pack Mt. is 2290’ in elevation. I am nervous about running this race because I have not run this distance in several months, plus the weather was bright and sunny with temperatures in the 70’s. This coarse was designed to give runners a hill climb challenge and to test strength and endurance. My estimated finish time is 1:55 or better. But I have to get to the start first. I have hesitated to write this report until I have seen official results. After waiting for the results I found out I was listed as URO. I did not know what this stood for. I frantically posted something on the B.S. for some explanation of what is going on. Them I emailed the race director and he said my name appeared as finishing almost 15 minutes faster that I actually ran. URO stands for Under Review by Officials. The R.D. reassured me he would correct the results. Is there someone out there imitating me? I did not ask how this happened. Just wanted it corrected.
