Return To The Beginning

The Hat Run was our first ultra-marathon back in 2007.

At the time we had run many a road marathon and were in the middle of transitioning from road running to trail running. The Hat Run was also our first run with the Bimblers. We were training for the Pacific Crest 50 mile and attended a talk on ultra-running being given by Mr. Bimble and Guthrie at Sound Runner in Branford. We did not really know them, or any of the Bimblers, but, we walked out of the discussion that night thinking maybe we ought to do a 50k before we do a fifty-mile race. The Bash Preview Bimble is an informal opportunity to sample the Bash course in advance of race day. Starting at 8:30 am from Cox School, 3 Mile Course, Guilford, the run will offer groups of varying pace to check out the Bimblers Bash Course in all its glory!

Bluff 50k Info, Bluff Bites

Bite 3, also known as Poetry In Motion or the Circumnavigation, takes you on a magnificent looped course over the Broomstick Ledges, climbs up Bluff Head, crosses into Northwoods, goes over the Mica Ledges and then skirts around the Rockland Preserve. It has a bit of everything, gnarly rocks, roots, hills and stunning views. Allegedly estimated to be 15 miles the route starts and ends at the Renee’s Way Trail Head in Madison, CT. It is also dog friendly.
